Providing professional therapeutic massage and bodywork for over 24 years, Marianne is a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest. Combining a background in sports including distance running and swimming, tennis, yoga, dance and outdoor adventure with inspiration from the natural world Marianne looks to share her passion for health, movement and life.
A graduate of the Oregon School of Massage in Portland, OR in 1989, Marianne received the certificate of completion of the intensive hour’s program from the Breneke School of Massage, Seattle WA in 1992. She has completed extensive continuing education courses including deep tissue massage, sports massage, structural assessment, injury treatment, pain management, shiatsu and Jin Shen Do acupressure, myofascial release, Thai massage and relaxation techniques.
Marianne has been interested in the observation and care of animals from childhood. She has long been involved in training, rehabilitation and conservation of domestic and wild species in a variety of situations. Marianne has volunteered in the marine mammal department at the Oregon Coast Aquarium for 12 years, accumulating over 12,000 hours during this time. She has the unique opportunity to assist the marine mammalogists with the husbandry care and training of these amazing highly intelligent animals.
